smith cover 1.An Heiress, an ancient prophecy, and a masquerade. Long-kept secrets are just beginning to be revealed…

Hundreds of years ago, in the land of Renatus, a prophecy containing an ominous prediction for the distant future was recorded and hidden in six books. These books were passed down through the generations, their true nature unknown even to their inherited owners. Now, Nerissa, the Heiress to the throne of Chiyo, prepares for the annual masquerade, unaware that one of the books has been discovered and an urgent warning of an impending attack is on its way to the capital. A chance encounter and an unexpected rescue by a mysterious man alters the course of Nerissa’s future and reveals that the secrets of the past are just beginning to be uncovered.

Smith book cover 2

It’s Charis’ birthday and Nerissa, the Heiress of Chiyo, wants to bake her best friend a cake. Nerissa has never made a cake before, but with the help of Pan, the best baker in Chiyo, how hard could it be?

Author’s note: Shattered Sugar Dreams is a short story that is set three months before the beginning of Reflection: The Stranger in the Mirror. The events that take place are outside of the main plot line of the Records of the Ohanzee series, so it is not necessary to have read Reflection to understand and enjoy this story!

  2. Wow! I was in a wedding today and didn’t get to check my feeds until just now. I was both surprised and flattered to discover this post about me and my series. It really made my day–and it has been a pretty awesome day I the first place, so that’s really saying something! I can’t thank you enough for your kindness! ^_^
