DAWN OF ANOTHER YEAR BRINGS OPPORTUNITIES TO BEGIN ANEW
Wow, didn’t 2014 FLY BY?
Maybe its just me, as I am getting older the years seem to collide together. Last year I finally decided to quit my SECURITY Industry job, as the AGNECIES in ILLINOIS are not much to brag about. The bottom line is that I had more experience and a degree and never got recognized, promoted or any other benefit for the low pay of 10.00 an hour. My first question is how many of you do get paid that low? Who can support themselves, much less a 20 year old on that salary? That is BELOW poverty level! Here in the expensive ILLINOIS, DO NOT MOVE HERE, GET OUT FAST.
I Never thought I’d say this, but I cannot wait to move out of this horrible IL area. No area is good, high taxes, crazy drivers, and managers that think they know it all when they don’t. And, I believe in Karma, so what goes around comes around.
I also graduated at age 47 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Management for my big success story in 2014! All I did for two years is work and go to college-glad that is finally O V E R! Talk about LESS STRESS.
I also MOVED in 2014 where I will love to live until such time I decide where to move to next and when.
I also bought a 2010 Harley Davidson Road King…my dream has come true! It took over 15 years of praying and praying and now I have it! My saying is If It AINT a HARLEY IT AINT A BIKE! Sorry to offend SOME readers. 😦
Now for the good news.
I took a low pay job at a BP gas station and I am still training. I had NO CLUE how much work is involved. The cahiers make it look so EASY…SO NOT TRUE. I thought being a bar tender or waitress was HARD. Guess again…this is WORK. Or should I say they do things the good ol’ fashion way, need to get up with technology that is for sure! So my background in Security brings added value, then my technology skills bring in value, let’s see how much Change I can bring to the table! My dream is to manage the store and then OWN ONE! The best part is that it is close to where I live!
Thus, needless to say I am NOT in any college related field of study, go figure!! They say education is never wasted. I think that the Statistics class was a total waste of my time for sure! Did not learn 1 thing in that class.
If anyone gets an email from me from boxbe…. Boxbe is a free service that purports to screen spam in personal email. It prioritizes and screens spam in personal email. Boxbe users can select which email they want to receive, and which email goes to spam. It presents a challenge to the sender that requires a human response.
You should look into this free way of organizing emails. That’s all I can say, because finally in 2015 I will have it organized and less cluttered to keep only those that I wish to EMAIL.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will live through this day only. I will not brood about yesterday or obsess about tomorrow. I will not set far-reaching goals or try to overcome all of my problems at once.
I know that I can do something for 24 hours that would overwhelm me if I had to keep it up for a lifetime.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will be happy. I will not dwell on thoughts that depress me. If my mind fills with clouds, I will chase them away and fill it with sunshine.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will accept what is. I will face reality. I will correct those things that I can correct and accept those I cannot.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will improve my mind. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration. I will not be a mental loafer.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will make a conscious effort to be agreeable. I will be kind and courteous to those who cross my path, and I’ll not speak ill of others. I will improve my appearance, speak softly, and not interrupt when someone else is talking.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will refrain from improving anybody but myself.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will do something positive to improve my health. If I’m a smoker, I’ll quit. If I am overweight, I will eat healthfully — if only just for today. And not only that, I will get off the couch and take a brisk walk, even if it’s only around the block.
JUST FOR TODAY: I will gather the courage to do what is right and take responsibility for my own actions.
